I built SkeinScribe because I wanted AI-generated fiction that actually reads like fiction — not chatbot output dressed up as a story. Most AI writing tools produce text that feels like a conversation with a machine. SkeinScribe produces flowing, novel-quality prose where your choices shape an unfolding narrative.

The platform is built on Anthropic's Claude API with a custom architecture for branching narratives, entity tracking via story bibles, and multi-layer content moderation. You can play as a character or direct the story from above. The AI weaves your input into prose that maintains voice, continuity, and dramatic structure.

SkeinScribe supports content rating tiers from family-friendly to mature, BYO API key mode, text-to-speech, multiple export formats, and a public story library. It's a commercial product with a freemium model — free daily credits, paid tiers at $8 and $20/month, and one-time credit packs.
